I have always been weight conscience ever since I can remember. I would do weird fad diets in college and even took diet pills in high school even though I was not heavy. When I got into my 20's, I joined a health club with a girlfriend. We would meet for aerobics at least 3 times a week and other days we would do the Stairmaster or lift weights. I was in the best shape of my life. I then got married in my early 30's and moved to an area in the city where you pretty much need a car to get around. I also moved work locations downtown to where I needed to drive to my office. So a lot of my exercise stopped. Then I started to gain weight and was back to the battle of weight loss and trying different programs, diets etc. In my mid-40's my husband and I adopted a baby from Guatemala. She kept me on my feet all the time BUT I was still gaining weight. By the time I hit 50 I was 20 pounds heavier. I started having bad premenopausal symptoms and had a hard time running with my daughter for more than a few feet. After being so sick and tired of feeling the extra weight on me and having no energy at all I knew I had to do something. I was feeling like my health was taking a turn for the worse and I know I need to be around and full of energy for my daughter. I know a lot about nutrition having read many books about it and knew my body does best with a no sugar, no our diet. I felt a lot of energy when I had tried the Atkins diet awhile back. I felt what a really needed was someone behind me cheering me on and someone to be accountable to. I thought a coach would work best for me. I turned to Andrea who I used for some workout coaching just before I brought my daughter home. She is also a friend. I have been working with her for about 7 weeks now and have lost 13 pounds and my energy is remarkable. I have started a workout routine at home and go to kickboxing by my house 3 times a week. I am wearing feminine clothes and jewelry again instead of hiding in baggy jeans and sweatshirts. She has helped my see a new beauty in myself that has been there all the time but I had gotten totally out of touch with. I am so grateful to be connected to Andrea again. She inspires me to inspire others!
Working with Andrea as my Wellness Coach has drastically increased my self awareness. By becoming more aware of my actions regarding food and exercise, I have been able to learn to take more responsibility for those actions. In turn, this has helped me take the initiative to create new more positive choice patterns. I feel more in control of the choices that effect my health.
I came to Andrea after gaining some weight upon returning to graduate school. Throughout life, my attitude towards exercise was begrudging at best. I was hoping Andrea would provide the motivations I needed to lost the extra pounds. Our sessions far exceeded my expectations! Since meeting Andrea, I have lost over ten pounds, run my first road race and done my first “full” push-up. I am so thankful to Andrea for the changes I see in my body and spirit.

When I first had the chance to talk with Andrea and she forced me to truly think about what wellness means for ME, I admit I kind of played along but her genuine insightfulness and ability to cut through my boiler plate assumptions rapidly took me somewhere new. With her no BS approach to coaching, I found myself growing rapidly but not toward someone else's ideals but to the ones I already had; some goals I already had but had buried over time and others I never really realized or took seriously. No one likes setting goals, getting all pumped up and then watching them fade. But with Andrea I learned to tweak what I already had, try some great things I never knew, stop accepting excuses form myself and others and then found myself achieving great change that fit and stuck. Recently our firm recognized a certain amount of discord within the dynamics of our two offices; some challenges were personality conflicts or power struggles and some were just inefficiencies. Through a combination of group gatherings and one-on-one sessions with Andrea, each person in our organization was able to develop new and honest awareness of how their behaviors can impact the team, gain a fresh perspective on why others react the way they do and acquire a renewed, genuine respect for one another. While our challenges were not severe, Andrea's coaching left me amazed at how many improvements we were each able to make and how much more enjoyable work can be when a team of people can appreciate both themselves and the people around them more.

I had a life that I enjoyed and for the most part I was happy. After working with Andrea I now have a life that I absolutely love and I not only feel happy but excited. Andrea is an amazing listener and she has the wonderful gift of hearing between the lines. Her questions pull out the important thoughts and feelings that were hidden under by personal blocks and beliefs that were stopping me. Having weekly dialogues gave me the support that I needed to redesign my daily routines. Those changes created a foundation that allowed me to begin to reach for and achieve some personal goals.
